Today i woke up and from begining to end i had a fabulous day. It started off with the me being reunited with my baby, my one true love, my phone. i still cant believe how lucky i am to get that back. Its one thing to lose a phone but to lose a phone in one state, then have it sent to your hotel in another state and retrive it is something else.
We went for breakfast at a corner deli and i had my first new york bagel...tbh ive had better but i will give it another go tomorrow morning at a different place because im determined to find the best bagel in the city! Then nana and i begun the one thing i have been hanging out to do; shop in new york! We started in Forever 21 at about 11am and didnt leave until 2pm...woops, time really does get away from you in this city! After that we caught a cab to West 34th street where i was in my element...the biggest victoria secret store in the world. It was beautiful and of course i spent a few hours in there seeking through the 4 floors. By the time we got out it was almost 5pm and i had my heart set on getting 16 Handles; basically frozen yoghurt on a whole new level. After searching and searching the streets i was comepletly lost and ended up asking the lady at the Macaroon Parlour to google it on her phone so we could catch a taxi there. (of course i felt the need to show my appreciation, so i bought a box of macaroons. good one chlo). We eventually made it and boy was it worth the chaos to find it! There was a wall of frozen yoghurt with every flavor you could think of and then a self serve buffet style bar where you could add your toppings and then weigh and pay by the pound. As it was self serve, i had the power to control how much cookie dough, brownie bites, peanut butter cups, granola, twix, berries, captain crunch etc. went into my yogurt. Lets just say portion control was not on my side at that moment. #noregrets.
Although i had only been to 3 shops, i was ready to head back and it was almost 6 so we decided to catch yet another taxi back to the hotel. As there was a festival blocking the main street we needed to go on to get to times square, the taxi driver took us a different way back and we discovered that we are closer than we thought to radio city, the shopping on 5th avenue, the rockefella plaza and all places around that area, so that was good to know! After dinner i wasnt satisfied with my shopping for the day so i convinced nana to come out and continue shopping. They dont call it the city that never sleeps for nothing!
About $600 later i was satisfied. Shopping on 5th avenue is splended and now that i know how close it is, i will certainly be heading back asap! Although i have to admit, after a big day and night of shopping i am pretty keen to do some more sight seeing tomorrow. I tend to come across the most amazing things when we are just walking through random streets and getting lost in nyc.
Phone back? Check. 16 Handles? Check. Shopping satisfied? Check. New episode of ANTM? Check. What a lovely day it was.
