We chartered a boat that left Paraty harbour at 11am in blazing sunshine. It started off as a bit of a precession with a whole stack of boats taking the same course but our skipper (who was also our hotel owner) soon had us heading off to secluded spots for fun in the sun. While the Caiprhina's were being mixed by the crew and lunch prepared we banged some tunes on and polished off a bottle of Tanqueray between us. We pitched up on a stunning secluded beach and had an explore. With the girls looking the part with flowers in their hair it didn't take long for mister I not only own a boat and hotel in Paradise but am also in possession of a ridiculously toned frame to bust out his rather remarkable Capoeira skills that made the girls melt and garnered snide remarks from the blokes. He was springing about like a sodding olympic athlete but without the mats or run up - bloody show off : ) we jumped back on the boat and headed off to the next little bay for lunch. Post lunch and feeling just a touch tipsy Alice taught me a some dancing skills which really put the Captain in his place! We got back to Paraty around 4, had a bit of a wander then me and the lads found a bar for the Chelsea v City match. We had a sweepie on the result and although after a less than convincing opening to the match Chels pulled a win out of the bag and lined my pockets at the same time which was the cherry on the top of a rather memorable Monday! I'm writing this entry sat on a coach approaching Iguassu at 8am Wednesday morning after a full 24 hrs on the road with approx 20 minutes kip under the belt... fun fun fun. We've got a night on the Brazilian side of the falls before crossing over to the Argentinian side. Can't wait for the chopper flight over and boat trip to the base - think the journey will soon be outweighed by the experience!

Jane Ching Lovely to speak to you last night Alex. Thank you for your surprise call. Having read your latest blog entry I can see drinking, gambling, and footie played a significant part in this part of your big adventure!(Glad dancing was also on the agenda!) Next entry will hopefully indicate to your mother that you are learning such a lot about South American culture and history! Much love x
