Hello again!!
Right, where do i start! The last few days in Bangkok was awesome! Went to see the infamous Ping Pong show! It was an experience! These girls have got some talent. Not only ping pong balls, but chopping bananas, firing darts at ballons 6 ft away and writing 'Welcome to Bangkok' with a paint brush!! Well funny!! As soon as u walk through the door the literally jump on ya, two or three girls to one bloke! It was full of American lads and girls!! So we had a good laugh with them!! Went to the MBK centre, which is basically a huge shopping plaza, with absolutely everything on sale a dirt cheap prices! Only managed to buy some sunglasses tho as i was nursing a stinking hangover as the majority of the time spent in Bangkok was basically gettin a little wasted! Met loadsa people, of all ages and creeds, some a little weird, but mostly really cool people!!
So we left Bangkok on the friday, the day before the FA Cup final( Chelsea scum!!!)Â so we could watch it in Chiang Mai! We took the overnight train which took 13 hours, but it went so quick! They had a Disco carriage/bar on the train!!! Get in!!! Me and Stu bought some beers before we boarded as we heard it was expensive on the train (cheers toby)! The disco carriage was ridiculous, they had the tiniest disco ball celetaped to the ceiling, with the seating capacity on aroung 16!! but still had a right laugh, met an Irish couple called John and Laura, really nice people!! But who said that the Irish could drink!! Bloody hell, seriously this bloke drank 4 or 5 small cans and he was shouting and balling singing the song Streets of London!! But it was well funny! So the train journey went really quick as we drank and slept most of it!
Chang Mai is a toned down Bangkok basically with more mopeds! Its got the perfect balance between the hectic hustle and bustle of city life, with a laid back chilled environment! I like it alot better here than Bangkok. A couple of stu's mates have been here for months, so weve met up with them a few times and theyve showed us the ropes and told us the best temples/monasteries to vist and night markets! We go to this bar called the Roof Top Bar, as you can see from the pics there is literally no roof! Its brilliant and is the best place to meet people travelling the same route! The food here is amazing, and sooooooo cheap!! For around 150 baht you can order a Thai Green curry, with two portions of rice, a large Chang beer (no real beer here Mark), and a side order! Thats around 2.20 pounds! Less than a McD's happy meal!! Stupidly cheap!! So thats what we were doin for the first few days in Chang Mia, eating great food, visiting the many bars on offer, watching Thai kick boxing (men and women, the women were blokes tho)!!
Yesterday we arrived back from our 3-day Jungle trek in the mountains! Anyone who visits Northern Thailand must go on one of these!! It was class! The first day was a 3 hour trek through the jungle, up and down mountains with insects the size of my fist!! The first day there was around 15 of us, as the 2 groups were put together! There was French, American, English, Israeli and Swedish people, but all were really nice people!! The trek was a little challenging at the start as the humidity was tough to get used to, but after you got used to that and the bloody mossys it was awesome! The first night we stayed in huge bamboo sort of hut were all of us stayed in one roon. They had beer on sale, which was a real bonus! It got a little silly tho, as when u took a beer you had to mark it next to your name. So i noticed that a bloke called Dennis was drinking alot, i enquired who he was and found out he was French! The banter started to flow between the English and the French, and in the end it was a drinking competition between me and Dennis!! England vs France ! There was no chance that i was going to loose! I came through victorious with my 16 beers to his feeble 14!! Ha ha!!! I regretted it in the morning tho, as we had to trek another 4 hours through the jungle!! The third day was by far the best, as in the space of 4 hours we went white water rafting, elephant riding and bamboo rafting! It was brilliant! Our group was cool, and we all got along really well!!
So now i am going to go eat, i have never looked forward to dinna time so much in my life!! The prob is that there no many places to run as it is so busy, but im trying!! Oh dear oh dear Liverpool!!!! Ha ha! Unlucky Howlett and Beav!!!!!! Keep us up too date on whats goin on back home people, its really good to hear from you all !! Hope everyones ok and well, and the weathers not gettin ya down too much!! Will update in afew days when we have been to Pai!!!  Chick
p.s. The Full Moon Rave sounds like its gonna be a repeat of the last one! Nice one!!!!
