Oh, it's our last day in Surfers Paradise and we don't want to leave yet. In fact it's the first time we have felt so at home, probably because we were so lucky to have the apartment to ourselves. We loved staying in it, it almost felt like it was our own. Tomorrow night we're staying in a hostel, back to shared bathrooms and kitchens. They're not all bad though, I think we have been pretty lucky so far, the hostels have been relatively clean and we haven't experianced much noise, except for the night in Darwin when drunk head in the hall way kept everyone up with his singing, oh yeah and let's not forget when another drunk head got locked out by his friend Chinny! Oh well we have a private room for tomorrow at least, so we can't really complain.
So this morning we chilled out, had breakfast and washed some more clothes. I hoped to be on the beach by 11am but we didn't end up going until 12:45am after eating our tuna and salad lunch, that was probably a good thing though as Chris refused to put any sun cream on so at least he had less chance of burning. We dozed in the sun for two hours, then at 3:45 Chris decided to go for a run along the beach. I watched him turn into a tiny bouncing spot as he ran further away and then disappeared out of sight. I think he did pretty good considering he hasn't worked out or played rugby for months. Twenty minutes later he returned dripping in sweat. The sun had dipped behind the sky scraping hotels leaving the beach in shade and feeling chilly, so we packed up our stuff and went back to the apartment.
After showering we finished off the tuna we had left from lunch and watched tv for a few hours. A little later we went to Coles and bought some chunky soup and rice for dinner, still keeping it healthy see! Peter Pans travel shop next door offers free Internet use to back packers so we wasted an hour in there before coming back up to the apartment to have dinner.
After dinner Chris wrote in his diary and I did some blogging (played Angry Birds). Chris was on his last page of his diary so needed a new one. We went back to Coles to find him one but did they have any? No. We tried to leave straight away but I got lured into the chocolate and sweetie aisle buy Bertie (the fat kid in me) and dragged Chris along with me. He couldn't understand why I was craving sweets so bad. We stared at the chocolates for at least five minutes, checking the calories and fat on them. Dieting is so stressful! I told Chris he could just drag me out but it was obvious by his zombie like reaction that he wanted sweets too. Then we turned to the 99% fat free Natural gummy sweets! Yay we had finally found sweets we could eat on our diet and not feel guilty after!
As soon as we got back to the apartment we opened up the sweets and demolished them in minutes! For the rest of the night we continued to blog and diary while watching tv. Im a bit fed up of watching tv already, Chris is either watching Rugby or Australia's Master Chef!
Tomorrow will be an early start so we can catch our grey hound bus at 8am heading to Hervey Bay.
