We began with a visit to the Arc
De Triomf and then let the kids walk down Champs Élysées to meet us at 12:45 at carousel so they could visit the louvre at the time booked. I took Gail as she could not climb the stairs at AdT. I was a bit sad to miss out but that is life. Despite Gail's company, I bought a wonderful bright green (next summer's colours) skirt from Zara. it arrested me as I passed so I knew it was a must-have. We reached the Tuileries and Gail did not want it queue for the Orangerie preferring to get a crepe. we then met up with the kids many of whom were a bit late so both teachers set out to do the louvre whirl I waited for five who were mia. It was very windy and dusty in the gardens dam I kept getting grit in my eye and after an hour of waiting my hair felt as. If it had been sprayed it was so stiff with dirt! The kids pitched up an hour late. I was extremely anxious and the less I say about their attitude when they arrived the better. To defuse the situation I took them for a cold drink and then we met up with the others after their Louvre visit. We made our way to the bike tour start with difficulty and set off in our groups. Within a few minutes Brooke played up and the three of us at the back were lost. It took a while to get connected again with our guide and then we had the best time. For me this was a highlight of the trip.
I then took the group to Georges Pompidou and we saw the Stravinsky fountain. We had dinner at Flunch and after giving the kids an hour to wander around, we walked back. I was happy with the day as reasonably successful in achieving my objectives.
