Hi from Donna, the Interloper on the Rome leg of the grand Italian Tour!
Thanks to the ladies for letting me join them, had a fab time, here are some of my thoughts..
Best Food
Dinner the first night (Thursday) I'm sure Krista will have the name of the restaurant, pasta filled with pear and truffles, yummmmm
Closely followed by Licorice Root gelati at San Crispino.
Finally all pizza in Roma, paper thin bases, very simply with tomato and cheese or maybe with 1 or 2 extra ingredients, nothing too much, fantastico!
Best Drink
Easy - Nice cold Peroni at the corner bar, just near the hotel, Scholars Lounge I think it was called.
All coffe including my final cappuccino which was €0.90, so cheap but so tasty.
Best Jouney
Has to be the Countryside Tour which took us about half an hour out of the city to a restaurant where we had nibbles and wine, and then took us straight back! The equivalent of driving to Mt Cootha and back from the North Side, but the wine was okay...

Krista Cavallaro While Cathy and I were in Rome we noticed this short lady following us everywhere. She'd wait in hotel foyers, follow us on public transport, tours to the countryside and even sat at our table for our morning latte. Eventually, we felt sorry for her and let her stay with us, on the proviso that she made us countless cups of tea. Luckily she did a pretty good job of that because she wasnt very good at tidying up the apartment after us. I see that she's managed to get onto our blogsite now, eventhough we put her back on a plane to the Isle of Mann ...
Cathy Shannon Donna it was a joy having you with us in Rome. The food everwhere else is pretty good too. Gelati, coffee and great pizza and pasta. We are keeping up our end of the bargain and eating our way through italy. love cath
