Quick hello from Roma - it is 7.18pm and still 35deg. Not humid though. Since arriving here yesterday we have done the grand tour and a lot of walking. Trevi fountain last night and we did the hop on hop off bus today. We did much hopping.
Our apartmento is fabulouso but there was a wee mix up with apartments and we only have 2 days in this apartment (via modena) and tomorrow we move to via napoli 27 apartment. Becuase of the apartment mix up they are giving us free breakfasts each day. Who.d have thought choc tart was a breakfast food?
Food great - haven.t had a bad pizza yet. Text soon love cath
Still coming to terms with per favore or prego, buona notte or buona sera - either way, Im having a fantastic time and its only day two! For the record, I,ve already succumbed to a Sicilian ...cannolo that is, chocolate ricotta - there is a heaven. Also had my first Roman pizza ... pizza vendura with paperthin slices of eggplant and zucchini. So, I am having my daily veges, just within a calzone or on top of a pizza. Had my first real Italian latte this afternoon at the Piazza Republica - just think fountains, columns and cobbled roadway and you get the jist. In between the food forays we did actually manage to see some sites via a open-topped bus which was fantastic. I think I,ve now photograhed every building possible. <i love my digital camera. Ron, you,ll be pleased to know that I,ve got some good texture shots for your artworks so you can start planning a spectacular piece on my return. Diane and Dad you would both love it here ...this really is la dolce vita. Brady and Siena, there will be lots of interesting stories to come, so remember to share some of yours too.
