As you can see from the photo we finally had someone realign our airbags in the ute this morning (Monday) Had to stay around in Carnarvon for a few days to get the job done but hopefully it is worth it.
Enjoyed a walk along the old Carnarvon Jetty this afternoon.
Memories of me making an absolute idiot of myself last time we were here in 2005 as we walked the mile to the end came flooding back.
Last time round I had all the gear and no idea. This time just no idea.
In 2005 I had set myself up with a converted sack truck that was supposed to carry several rods, gaff, bait, tackle box etc. Sounded reasonable when planning it in Adelaide but when we got here and the jetty was in a pretty ordinary state the sack truck idea turned into a disaster waiting to happen. Suffice to say the bouncing over the old wooden planks created by the Jetty's deteriorating condition didn't do my gear much good. Then to say the barrier preventing access to the end of the jetty proved difficult to climb would be an understatement. Interestingly today the local kids fishing the jetty also had their own ways of clearing the obstruction created by the authorities.
We leave Carnarvon tomorrow and hopefully spend a few days fishing with Hanno and Stelleen. We need a bit of relaxation!
