Wow, Wow, Wow - after a long drive from Chicago to Cincinnati we were welcomed into the beautiful hearts of the Kentucky Choir and their families and friends. We were treated to a wonderful home cooked meal from all of the families here and had the best home cooked "Kentucky" Fried Chicken that you will ever taste. Definately need to come to Kentucky to taste that. It was our first home cooked meal in two weeks and we all loved it. After the dinner, the girls impressed not only us, as constant proud supporters but amazed the packed church with their competition repertoire. The girls so thoroughly enjoyed the whole event and just got better and better as they took the stage/alter in a gorgeous church with beautiful pastel lead glass windows which let the light filter in and make the place feel so friendly. The girls were amazing and received a standing ovation from everyone and the comments of praise flowed to them. We were treated also in return by the delightful voices of the Kentucky choir - a small choir with only 12 students - however their voices and the variety and maturity in some of the voices of such a young choir were beautiful. They too will be competing in the World Choir Games however in a different section and are so excited to be able to join in such a choir experience in their hometown. It's a rest morning and downtown for the girls tomorrow as they come down from such a high and refocus on the next couple of days ahead. I have no doubt that whatever they perform and do in the next coming days will be amazing and will make every one of their families and friends, Canterbury College and Logan City so so proud. Good luck girls - we are cheering for you.
I am unable to add a photo tonight as my USB cord is travelling to Florida for a day but I promise there will be photos of tonight's performance to come over the next days.
Wednesday is 4th July here - so many homes are already being decorated in red, white and blue - it is also the day the games begin with the opening parade at an enormous baseball stadium, so it will be an exciting time I'm sure to join in the parade with 20000 other competitors and celebrate in the US 4th July celebrations. Thanks for your wishes everyone to the girls. They are much appreciated.

Janet Munro How wonderful! It's brilliant to read this -- thank you, thank you, thank you! I was going to try and call Victoria but will try to time the call for the morning -- I'm sure they are all happy, but tired too.
