The new year is going great so far... The job continues to be a lot of fun, although it does keep me pretty busy. I only have about 2 1/2 weeks of work left. Its crazy how fast time is flying. I feel like the month just started! My friend Molly, from Missoula, is going to be working in western Argentina so when she flew in she stopped by for about 5 days and hung out with me. It was so much fun having her. It was really cool to have her meet my friends here, and for my friends here to meet someone from home. While Molly was here I showed her around the city and we took in some of BA's 'must see sights' including the Recoleta Cemetery where Argentina's rich and famous, including Evita Peron are buried, and the Obelisko. I posted a bunch of pictures from our excursions so you'll have to check them out! Molly is currently in Uruguay for a week, but she is going to stay with me again for a few days on her way back through. My friends Chris and Stefan finally left the city this past weekend. I met them during my first few days here, and we became great friends over the weeks, So it was pretty sad to see them go. I starting taking spanish classes this week. I have lessons 4 hours a day for 5 days. Its pretty intense because as soon as I'm finished with classes its time for me to start work. But I think its worth it. I felt like I had reached a plateau with my spanish and now I feel like I'm learning a lot so I'm really excited to see how it improves from here on out.
I can't believe how fast my time here is going. I feel like before I know it I'll be leaving the city. My last day of work is Feb. 3rd. Then I will be going to meet up with Scott in Mendoza. Then I'll just be traveling around. During my time working for South American Explorers I have gotten the chance to learn so much about all Argentina and the rest of South America has to offer. I'm really looking forward to getting out there! I'll keep you posted....
