Hello! Well I finally made it, and everything is going great. I'm really enjoying the city. I have just been walking wround the past few days and I'm loving it. I am staying with my friend Matt (who I went to school with in Missoula). He is taking language classes here and has been living in the city for about 3 weeks. He has an extra bed in the room he is renting, so he invited me to stay for a few days. Its been great hanging out with him, he has really helped me out getting to know the city better. I move into my apartment tomorrow, which I'm really looking forward to. I stoped by it today and it looked pretty nice. I really like the neighborhood too, so hopefully it'll work out great. Buenos Aires is really interesting beause it is made up of several very distinct neighborhoods. The one where Matt lives is beautiful. It is more of a residencial neighborhood and is filled with parks and tree lined avenues. Its a pretty expensive and trendy part of town but it is really cool. The area where I will be living and working is closer to downtown so its definitely a little busier, but it is also really nice. It is the oldest part of the city so there are lots of plazas and monuments, old colonial arcitecture and cobblestone streets. The street that I will live on is a little quieter, but close to everything. I think I will really like it.
All in all, I am having a great time. The spanish is presenting a bit of a challange, but I'm up to it. In just the few short days I've been here, I am getting more confident and feel like I'm improving, so thats good. Thats all from me at this point, but I'm sure I'll have more news once I move into my apartment and start my job! Hope all is well!
