Day 9, Day 6 of the House Build. After an early night we woke up to what looked like an English summer's day - grey and drizzly. Everyone was keen to get down to site hoping the inclement weather wouldn't thwart our attempts to finish by close of play today.2nd coats were started on 3 of the internal rooms along with first coats to the external walls. By 10am the paint was all gone and Wayne made another trip to the build it (the local equivalent of Travis Perkins) to procure some more and the rollers were once again furiously in action. The clouds began to lift and the sun began to beat down again. Baba and his crew with the assistance of Matt and Richard cracked on with the corrugated iron roof (having read the method statement that George Approved the night before). With the roof and painting complete the boys started on the snagging. The girls undertook some client entertainment - dancing, getting photographs taken and having their hair done by two of the young ladies moving into the house - Assander and Shamira The employer's agent arrived absolutely amazed at our progress - Myrtle couldn't believe that PC would be achieved, let alone within six days. No other group has come close to this with the average build time being one month and painting normally taking place by the following group. It is a unique achievement and one that which everyone at GGA cannot believe and of which the team are immensely proud. By the end of the day everyone was looking forward to a well deserved shower and the combined celebrations of Wayne's birthday and PC.
