Did I say how big this place is? We have decided to move on yet again and head to the western side of the park and a new campground at Madison Junction. The distances around the park roads make it easy to do 100 or more miles daily and in an RV it's not so much fun. By moving sites the journeys are much shortened, making for less travelling and more sightseeing time. Jan said that today would be all about the journey rather than the destination, deep huh! We retrace our steps back towards the Washburn Range and the Dunraven pass, stopping at Wraith Falls where we are treated to the sight of a female mule deer suckling her young and enjoying breakfast in the early morning sunshine. We make various stops en route, at Tower-Roosevelt we walk down to the river past Tower Falls and sit on the sandy bank for a while, at Canyon we make our way to the brink of the Upper Falls and watch the spectacle of so much water disappearing over the edge. As the day unfolds we slowly make our way to Madison and our campsite planning a barbecue, campfire and beer. The weather has other ideas and proceeds to chuck it down as soon as we get the fire going. Rain stops play.
