We have booked a day trip for today so we can relax a little and leave the RV parked up. We join a small group of people and head out for the day on a classic 70's Greyhound bus with a driver who knows all there is to know about the sights and smells of Yellowstone. First stop is the West Thumb Geyser Basin where we are told stories of fishermen hooking fish from Yellowstone Lake and cooking them in the hot springs without taking them off the hook. We follow the park road across the continental divide not once but twice before arriving at The Upper Geyser Basin, home to Old Faithful. We watch its eruption and spend a little time here before moving on to the Lower Geyser Basin. The bus stops at so many springs, geysers and waterfalls it's almost too much to take in for one day. This park is vast and five days only scratches the surface. We complete the lower loop of the park and return to our campground. Brad and I head to the Ranger talk and Jan takes care of the laundry while we are away but has to be rescued on our return as it's so dark she can't find her way either to or from the launderette. It's more carrots or a torch, we can't decide which.
