This morning is our last day in the jungle, this morning for breakfast we had chow mien style noodles. We worked at the eco-camp today, as it's a fair distance we took a boat to save time. This is where Sam is now staying with Amy due to his foot infection. When we got there it was time for Sam's second appointment at the doctors, it didn't take very long so we returned in time to do some project work.
We have lunch here, it really is lovely, we explored before lunch, there are some huts as people stay at the eco camp, there are also real toilets with sinks with running water which is a real treat. Our lunch is rice with really crispy and huge fried sardines, it is really yummy. Not only that but we get to eat it with a real knife and fork on a real plate, when I returned from Sam's doctor's appointment I bought Sabrina and I a can of coke, which is a lovely cool treat during lunch.
It is very hot today, as we have been in the jungle I think the heat is hitting us more as we have been in the shade so much.
Here we are working on a lake, this sometimes joins the main river during floods, and an invasive species of plant from South America called Salvinia from the lake as it is covering the surface of the water which negatively impacts upon other plants and fish in the lake. We collected around 140 large bags, well done team Pisang.
After our work we get our boats back to camp, our tea was rice and chicken soup with pineapple for our afters. This evening we all relaxed by the river and packed away as much as we could to save time in the morning as this is our last night in our hammocks :(
