Today we visited the tiger temple - Famous for many a thing!
However as young backpacking travellers we decided to get caught up in the hype.
So as much as I didnt want too, James insisted on taking me on the back on the moped (mopeds are not my friends, refer to earlier blogs) to be fair its so much quicker and easier but I do fear for my life now. Although James does a good job a getting us there and home safely.
It took about 45 (long) minutes to get there but we finally did, in 1 piece. It was about 38kms away from our little guesthouse.
There isnt really much to see there, apart from a bunch of tigers chilling out with some tourists.
We 'donated' 1000Baht and had our photo taken with the beasts, I was very scared and didnt really want to start my adventure being mauled by a tiger but James loved it and got fully involed with holding the tigers head (i dont know why they insist you do this, i would rather just keep my distance) to be fair I made sure I kept my distance.
So after this exciting 15 minutes our trip was done! Brilliant.
But it was cool to see and stroke some tigers!
And for all you hippie/eco warriors that want to tell us just how bad the tiger temple is.. please dont. We are aware. However, volunteers/vets at the park would strongly disagree so it would maybe be worth taking a visit yourself first and having a chat with them - After all, your entry fee helps the tigers (and the lovely monks) as its a none profit organistation which would explain why the actual tourist part of it is so bad
