We were up bright and breezy today to get our ferry from Ko Lanta to Phi Phi.
I was sad about leaving Lanta, i've loved it so much here and i have missed feelings about Phi Phi having heard a lot of mixed opinions but we're here so we'll give it ago!
The ferry left at 8am and luckily only took about an hour.
I did not realise however that there were NO cars/motorbikes or anything with a motor (apart from boats) on the island of Phi Phi. How were we expected to get to our bungalows?!
I found this out as i asked a man who worked on the boat whether he could arrange us a taxi and he just laughed… oops, next time more research needed!
So we didn't really know where our hotel was and it was HOT we didn't want to lug out backpacks for longer than we needed too.
But lUCK we saw a man stood outside the ferry holding a sign 'JJ BUNGALOWS' Which is where we had booked so i ran up to him and shouted WE'RE STAYING HERE. He asked my name… Not on the list, damn it.
But more luck, no of the other people of his list had turned up on this ferry to he lugged all our bags into a big wheelbarrow and began to transport them for us. RESULT!
I did feel bad so we have him a good tip & we were allowed to check in straight away.
The bungalow was nice, BIG and would do just fine for our 3 nights.
We went straight out for a wonder around, it was a lush little place you could just walk everywhere and there were a load of shops and restaurants all down the little side streets.
We decided in the afternoon we would head to the 'view point' as your supposed to get the best views of Phi Phi here.
We thought sunset might be a good time to do this, so running late as always we started our climb.
We had been warned that the walk can take about 40 minutes and that it is STEEP.
Well the people who told me weren't wrong.
There were a out 1000000 steps and 1000000000 hills to climb to reach the top.
Literally is a Tsunami was to hit and you were to evacuate up here (the highest point) if you were being rushed you would definitely die before the Tsunami even touched you…It was exhausting!
But we made it and with time to spare. It was pretty busy at the top but we found a big rock and made camp.
The sunset was amazing! and well worth almost dyeing for, plus you could see over all of Phi Phi which looked awesome, you soon the realised what a small place it was and i found it easy to imagine what it would have looked like just over the Tsunami had hit.
We didn't want to get stuck in the rush of everyone all climbing time at the same time so we left quickly, luckily the walk down was a lot easier than the climb up!
Hot and sweaty we decided to grab some food from the stalls on the way back and make camp in the room for the night.
