I woke up early and headed over to the embassy. I was let in a 8:30 and it seemed no big deal. They were going to get me a emergency passport. Of course part of the reason I went over there was because I couldn't get a hold of anyone from the Thessolniki train station to ask about the passport. I was hoping to speak with an American, after all it was an American Embassy, but instead I got a Grecian. He was very short with me and would not answer my questions fully. After filling out the paperwork and then being told it was going to be something like 100 euros I thought I better make damn sure that the train station doesn't have it. I tried again to get a hold of someone but no dice and instead of ruining the trip we decided to go to the beach and get the passport in Thessoliniki. The beaches in Athens kind of stink. They are pretty undeveloped and rocky. Any restaurants along the beach were very expensive. This is probably the reason most people go to the islands. We had talked to the guy from the hostel and he referred us to the island of Poros, which is only 2:15 min away from Athens and seemed to have a good mix of things. So first thing in the morning we are going to try and catch the 7:30 ferry.
This is also a good time to make a social commentary, which I think everyone loves. The ladies of Athens are not good. I thought America had an overweight problem. It seems like Athens has outdone us. Congrats America! This is not to say that there are not beautiful girls in Greece, no there are they just aren't in Athens. No just kidding, there are good looking girls, but the hit a point a decline rapidly. I think Dale differs on this opinion, but he isn't writing this so... no just kidding. I think I am biased I am just so used to the girls of Brasov. If you don't believe me go rent My Big Fat Greek Wedding, those are typical Greek girls.
