It was not until I left the hostel at 5:40 that the guy downstairs had not delivered on his promise and instead woke me up about 30 min late.Oh by the way the wake call wasn't a call at all, it was more of a knock on the door.I rushed quickly to the metro to try and catch my 6:06 train which left as I was walking up to the ticket office.Disgusted, but refused to let that ruin my day I went to plan 2, which was three sites in one day.I would go to Corinth, then Mycenaean, and finally catch the sunset on the south tip of the Greece mainland at the Temple of Poseidon. When I arrived at Corinth I had to catch a bus into town and a bus from there to the Ancient Corinth.I had no idea where I was going but I was able to ask and people were fluent in English enough to know what I was talking about. As I was viewing the site one of the people that worked there started blowing her whistle and shouting at this stupid American because he was trying to steal a stone from one of the ruins. That always leaves you with a ood feeling. After walking around the site and viewing Temple of Apollo, I decided to sit on a patio and partake in some Gyro, while looking out at the straight in between the mainland and the Peloponnese.Oh another thing, the comments earlier about Greek women only pertain to the Athens women. The small tow girls are "very nice".I caught the bus and had to take it back to town. From there I was able to take a bus to Mycenaean but I didn't arrive until 2:30 and I was forced to wait 1:15 min.The prospects for the sunset at Sounion where looking grim. When I arrived in "Mycenaean" I realized I was not in Mycenaean, but the elderly couple who spoke English and ran the bus station/bar, informed me it was down the road 3km.This is not too bad of a walk and they said I was straight down the road. They did not inform me however that the town is 3km and the site is another 2 up a hill. The first 3km where very nice as I walked down a small country road surrounded by olive trees.Once I came out of the olive trees I was greeted by a wonderful sight?tour buses.I knew I must be on the right track.I also saw backpackers and followed them up to the summit. The fortress was good sized and very old.Burial plots around and in the fortress dated back to the 17th century BC, although this area was also settled during the Neolithic era, and was rebuilt many times. After surveying the situation and visiting another archaeology museum, I headed back down and to the small town, whose name escapes me.I arrived 5 min before the bus to Athens arrived and I thought maybe I could make the sunset after all. This was not to be as I arrived in Athens at 8:15 and could not possibly make it.I informed the night duty guy that I was not promptly woken up ad would need another 5:00 wake up call.He apologized and said not to worry, even though doubt lingered in my head.
