I got a wakeup call on time this morning and was able to make the 6 o' clock train.I was paranoid he whole night, though, and wasn't able to get much sleep.I did not have to pay any train fees the whole day, which was nice, and I felt the pass was starting to pay off.I had to make 2 connecting trains each way and had about 10 minutes in between to make the connection. I made the first connection in Corinth and was feeling good. The main train ride was pretty boring and long, as the route went all the way along the coast of the Peloponnese instead of cutting across, and lasted about 4 hours.Upon arriving in Pirgos, on time, I made the small train to Olympia. After only a 3 min ride I arrived in the small, but quaint town.Tourism is really the only thing in that town, but it still preserved a nice feel. The small size allowed me to easily find where I was going. There were two museums. The first one being the history of the Olympics, which detailed the over 1,100 years of history, and the second being another archaeology museum which had many artifacts displayed that were discovered at the site.In between the two museums I visited the actual site.It was quite extensive and free, not really sure but I didn't ask any questions. They Greeks were very advanced for their time. Some of the buildings had heated walls were the baths were located.I thought the site was much more impressive than the Parthenon. The structures were less intact but this was home to one of the ancient wonders of the world and while it was in its prime it attracted people from all over the known world. The amount of buildings greater than the Parthenon and built on just as grand of a scale. After visiting the site I went to the museum and afterwards caught the next train.Even though the journey was far, it was worth it.On the way back I also made all my connections and was feeling like it was my lucky day, well that was until I returned to the train station. I wanted to catch the night train at 12:00 to save on staying in the hostel and so I could check out Thessaloniki's Archaeology Museum and some other things.Well there was standing room only on the sleeping car, which didn't sound like much fun.The 11:00 was also sold out, and this was at 9:00 mind you.In addition the ticket salesman was completely rude and had a knack for making people feel like crap.So after dealing with him, I checked the schedule to see if there was an early morning train I could catch, and there was one possibility, which left at 8am.I decided to go to Hostel Zeus and see if they had rooms, if they didn't I would take the overnight train ad try and sleep in the hallway.Luckily though there was room and I got a wakeup call for 7, hopefully he would get me up on time.
