On Saturday, we hung out around the house, ate breakfast, and took a dip in the pool. Around noon, the group headed out to Playa Ventanas. It was a very popular locals spot. There were palm trees all around the entrance to the beach where families could set up camp with music, food, and beer. We walked all the way out to the beach to ride the waves. There were two caves you could walk into during low tide. There were little crabs hanging on the sides of the cave and the water was chillier than the beach front. During high tide, the water supposedly shoots out of the cave like a canyon but we didn't get a chance to see that. We hung around the beach and tossed around the aerobie between James, Dave, TJ, and I. Then we headed back to the house to prepare for the Seahawks game.
On 1/10/15, the Seahawks played the Panthers for the second round NFL playoff game. We watched the game at the Jolly Roger restaurant and bar just down the hill from the house. The food was so good. We had a jalapeno burger, garlic fries, fresh guacamole, and several tanglewood rums and beers. We ran in to several Seahawks fans from Washington. It was really fun to hear the cheers and feel the supportive spirit while the hawks were playing in another country. We won the game 31-17 and ended the excursion on a good note. We headed back to the house and hung out by the pool and played games the rest of the night.
