Every morning we had fresh fruit and bitter orange juice available for breakfast. It had been 3 days of travelling between the plane and driving, and this was our first day to take in the grounds. We all took a quick dip in the pool most mornings and would see tons of animals and bugs around the 250 acre private jungle. We set out for lunch at a place where the entrees of arroz con pollo were gigantic. The restaurant's backyard had a pool with a water feature and lots of tree coverage where we saw an iguana.
Then we drove out to San Isidro to visit the farmers market to get ingrediants for the first real night of cooking dinner. The drive over was filled with bendy roads, beautiful views, and lots of people watching. When we got to the city, the group split off the shopping list and we had an hour to walk around the city. As we were looking for a drink, we did some local sight seeing and shopping. Once we had all the groceries, we headed back to the house.
We had tortilla soup the first night. It was nice and light but very flavorful. The rest of the evening was pretty relaxed with pool side drinks, card games, and more drinking.
