Hello,
So we survived the overnight train from Hue, we had to catch it at 11pm which was a pain cos our usual bedtime is like 9pm (sad i know). But i did get a much better nights sleep than on the Bangkok/Chiang Mai trains so all was good. We werent able to share in the 4 bed cabins, but we were OK, i had a canadian guy who obv spoke english in mine so i had someone to chat to. We had also been to a bookshop and got books, and a bakery for snacks so we were well prepared for the journey.
hue is such a contrast from Hanoi, its considered the upmarket destination in Vietnam and it feels it too. Our hotel is lovely, nicest place weve stayed so far and its only costing us 5 quid each a night. There much less traffic and its generally a lot more relaxed here, its a really nice place to spend a couple of days chilling in.
We decided we would do the sights tomorrow so we sat down by the perfume river today eating ice creams and reading in the sunshine. The weather has picked up now weve come back down South which is nice, feels like were on our jollydays again. Hanoi was sort of misty and muggy, slightly remeniscint of english weather actually.
We are here for another day then were bussing it to Hoi An where we think we might stay for a few days. weve heard a lot of good things about hoi an tailors so think we will get some clothes made there, i want to get a dress for kaylies wedding so hopefully should get that sorted.
Oh by the way Chris you've finally got a present, not sure if its a bit artsy for you though so it might be part one of two presents, but i havent forgotten bout u.
