Day ten: The main event!! Woke up at 4:45 and heading down to the race at 05:30. It was still dark outside. We got down to the seafront which was already buzzing with activity and spectators. Day nine: Nice relaxing morning spent round the pool! Found a LILO so blew that up and floated around! Steph, Alison and Steve went shopping. When they got back we went down and met up with Australian crew! Day eight: We went down and met the clan around 10:30 at a different beach which had golden sand and was more of a surfing beach than a snorkeling beach. Went into the sea, which was extremely salty, and did a bit of bodysurfing! Got into the wave washing machine on a couple of occasions which was quite exhilarating! Day seven: Up relatively early after the drinking of the night before. 7:45. Matt and I headed down to meet glen at half 8 and we did another swim to the coffee pontoon although this time I did not use fins which I was quite pleased with. Day six: Woke up ridiculously early 4:45! Went for a swim with Glen, Bev and J! What an experience. We met at 06:30, went down to the ironman start point and swam with all the ironman athletes who were training! Swam along the ironman course to a pontoon (associated with the event) which handed out coffee! So we had a coffee half a mile out at sea, whilst treading water.
