I see the light at the end of the tunnel. It's been a crazy long couple of days but I'm in the home stretch and gaining speed. I'm at a point now where I'm writing these estimates second nature and I'm finally able to have some free time. It's been a very unusual tour in that aspect. Usually there is at least one or two days a week in which I can go out and explore the area. I guess it's better that a busy tour came when I was in familiar CT instead of Cali.
I had Super Bowl Sunday off from working which was excellent. I had four inspections set for that day and was pretty backed up with condo losses (pain in the ass) but I barrelled through them with the intention of not missing the best Super Bowl matchup in years. I was rooting for the Packers over the Steelers for many reasons. I went to high school with the team president's daughters and my buddy Brookes lives and dies by the team so I was really stoked for all of them. A few of my co-workers and I watched the game at Hooters of all places. Having not been there since high school, I saw a lot of humor in going back there to watch the game. The place sucked though (except for the 100 oz tower of Bud Light) and we then ventured on over to this italian bar down the street from our hotel. We spent the rest of the game there, it was a decent time. My co-worker got scolded by an older Packers fan for being too loud during the game, which I thought was hilarious. Thumbs up, dude!
Been receiving a lot of praise from management for my work ethic this tour. My manager received a positive customer service email from this awesome woman who just moved her from Cali and was recognized for that. It feels good to be doing good work and helping other people, even though some of them are outrageous and expect the world from you in terms of helping them with the damages to their home. I just hope this week flies by. 6 days until the cruise. Eeeee.
