Having arrived at Pula Lankawi port in Malaysia we found that the taxi rank was closed for lunch do we decided to sample some Malasian food for ourselves whilst waiting for it to open. This consisted of a KFC zinger burger followed by a coffee at Starbucks... Hopefully not a sign of things to come!
We took advantage of the wifi and quickly realised that the storm was also headed for Langkawi. We also realised that it was a top Malasian holiday island and that there weren't many budget options for accommodation, food or activities.
Realising that we would not be able to make the most of our snorkels here we decided to head further south to Penang, hopefully out of the reach of the storm and to a less 'resorty' destination. Luckily there was a 5:15 ferry departure so after a few hours on the rainy island we set off on our travels again...
