Our final stop in Malaysia was in the capital of Sarawak, Kuching, which is Malay for cat and the city is pretty obsessed with them with cat statues on nearly every corner and it has the only cat museum in the world. The city doesn't have any spectacular sights apart from an old British fort which the governor of Sarawak has decided to move into and has closed to the public (selfish!) so we just wandered around the streets of Chinatown and little India sampling some of the food as we went.
There was another Chinese festival going on during our stay and we watched a colourful parade of lion dancing and singing children.
We have really loved our time in Malaysia, especially on the Borneo side and will be a bit sad to leave but are also excited to go on to Singapore and see what it has to offer!
