This morning we caught the bus into the city centre where we stopped off at the Louvre for one of our 'free' days. Was looking forward to going in but our group of seven walked for 15 minutes and still couldn't find the back of the line. We didn't want to waste a lot of time so we headed to the river where we came across the famous padlock bridge. Here you can attach a padlock to the bridge with your initials on it and it 'seals' your love. Probably better known as the bridge where Mr. Big proposed to Carrie in Sex and the City.
We then headed out to do a boat cruise down the river where we saw some of the most outstanding architecture I've ever seen. Paris is so beautiful.
After our boat cruise, we headed out to lunch at a local restaurant. We ordered some more snails and also got stuck into the frogs legs before having a steak, some chocolate creeps and wine. They were different to how I imagined. More like chicken than anything else and very much like eating chicken wings. Very tasty!
After that, we went for a bike ride around Paris with a fantastic tour guide who knew his stuff. The traffic was a bit crazy but I thought it was a great way to tour.
We then had a quick picnic at the Eiffel Tower before heading to a cabaret show which I thought was fantastic. The dancing was great and they even had a few interesting acts on as well.
That finished at about 11:30 and we then hit the town for a bit of a taste of the Paris night life. A few clubs were going off and we had quite a few drinks. The boys from New Zealand that we are on tour with ended up doing the huka behind the bar at one of the pubs. I headed home with Liam and Brad at about 4:30 in the morning for a well deserved sleep!
