Today was a long travel day. We headed through France and across the border into Switzerland. We stopped for a picnic lunch and then kept heading in to the Alps where we stayed in a small town called Lauterbrunnen.
I have never seen anything so beautiful in my entire life. This place is incredible.
The mountains and cliffs are humongous and the countryside is green. Houses here are wooden structures with cute shutters on the windows and window boxes. They almost look like large mountain cabins and they sit on all over the hills in town. Wood is a big market here as it gets pretty cold and most places have a stack neatly sitting out the side. Definitely a massive difference from Paris.
We pulled up to our campsite which is made up of cute little wooden cabins and booked into our rooms.
Famous Swiss cheese fondu for tea followed by meat and vegetables and then to the bar for a nightcap. Didn't stay long though as we were pretty tired from the day before and traveling all day today, so I hit the hay at about 12:30am.
