we spent the night on a boat at the doubtful sound (something similar to a fjord). as we arrived yesterday it was raining vey badly and it didn't look like it would end. but as we were always lucky with the weather, the sun came out and we had a very nice afternoon. at 6pm we went kayaking in the sound. it was really nice in the sunshine, but the sandflies and the moskitos somehow didn't recognize that we used insect repellent... there were thousands of them! we had a very nice dinner buffet and left the boat at 10am the next day, heading for Otago.
