JUST HERE WITH A QUICK NEWS FLASH!.....have told you all before that 60% of accidents in bali are coursed on the roads well its now 61% after we were involved in a end death experience.
Only minutes after leaving home on a quiet Friday afternoon while riding our trusty Honda from the quiet suburbs where we live, some stupid ( shall we just say asia person with slitty eyes) tourist pulls out of a side road in a bloody great jeep, without looking. Coursing us to locals to hit the prat.
with our brakes on full lock and the tyres screeching we bashed the side of his car, Throwing caroline of the back of the bike, but not after traping her leg. with all the neighbours rushing out to see what had happened (one bring over bandages and some iodine) we got ourselves together, me with not a scratch but carolines leg was already swollen up like a balloon.
Back in the uk if someone pulls out without looking its their fault. Here however as long as your not dead they say sorry and you all go on your way. The ironic thing about this story is we had left the house to go to the medical centre to get some pain killers for my bad back.
Now we were going with a suspected broken ankle and a broken exhaust pipe. after a nervous ride to see the doc and getting the all clear that no bones were broken, with a bag full of cream and pills we returned home to get some ice on the ankle.
The only good thing that came out of the day was that we stayed in and watched the Goddfather 1, 2 and 3. The result of watching 6 hours of gangsters my have contributed to what happened to days later, when Dave cruelly reduced the number of stray cats in bali by one, when he ran one over down the road.
well thats the end of the news flash check of the pic of the ankle injury, sadly no pic of the cat as we got he boys to bury the body on the jungle gangster stly ...........
