Weds 13th- not really much goin on today cos i'm gettin the bus at 2ish towards Cairns, so just loitered really. the bus was late, but to make up for it we saw a Cassowary in the wild. it's the 3rd largest flightless bird in the world, is bluey and can jump upto 6 feet in the arm when provoked...so we all went to get a good piccy of it without losing any limbs!!! further up the coast we stopped of at the S.Johnston Croc farm for about an hour, we got to see numerous large crocs gettin fed, and the little breeding/ housing area for the crocs which have a life destined for wallets and hats! we got to hold a bearded lizard, alligator and snakes, and a few of us got bitten by a snake too (thou it was only a rock python) it isnt poisonous but it still broke the skin! arrived into cairns in the early eve and then headed out to the woolshed for food and drinks. got a bit bored so i went to koalas to see tommy, tj and callum and watch the State of Origin game- queensland won 10-6 and then went home.

thurs 14th- walked along the esplanade to town, sorted a few bits n bobs out and just relaxed by the tv in the afternoon. the weather isn't great, but perfect for reading and watching tv! in the eve we just played a bit of cards and hit the sack early. oh met up with debbie and matt for a few hrs, chattin and then we went back to their little place.

fri 15th- again walked into town, internet and window shopping. lunch and then watched tv- if u haven't guessed by now there isn't much to do here if the weather is bad but we did have an epic game of footy in the afternoon, which made us realise how much work we need to do in regards to fitness when we get home! in the eve we played cards, watched the nrl game and drank goon till the early hours. met up with ally, steph and cat before they went out for drinking which was cool.

sat 16th- bummed around the hostel for a bit, walked along the esplanade with mark n darren. bumped into matt n debbie again, went to the fruit market with the canadian trio and headed back to the hostel. ate food with nicki and then walked to koalas to met up with callum, tj and tommy to start drinking games prior to the nite out. drinking stanley chardonney isn't pretty, nor is trying to undertake the waterfall in ring of fire, but needs must! headed to a fewbars and ended up in the woolshed, and then walked home earlish

sun 17th- early start but did f*** all really! watched some of the afl game, ate lunch and wandered to matts to sort out pics. updates this blog and going to head out for bbq later. tonites plan doesnt seem too exciting, so i'm guessing it'll be film watching and cards. got a few things planned for next week so the blogs for them will be more exciting...goin to fitzroy island tom, an atherton tableland tour on tues, weds n thurs is my trip to cape tribulation and then sat i leave to darwin on my 3000km bus ride- yeah!!!!
