thursday 10th- got up with a bit of probelms after all the alcohol consumed the night before (but the liver is still fine nana cos i drank lots of water :-)   ) couldnt really do much due to my bag but still managed to get a round of mini golf in before i left on the bus. said goodbyes to the canadians, gonna miss those drunken fools- but at least it'll give me some restbite from drinking! booked in my hostel and the dungeon which holds 30 ppl!

friday 11th- booked myself onto a tour of the XXXX brewery, so you'll be pleased to hear i was in a brewery by 1030, and drinking by 1200 so so much for taking it easy. the tour was pretty cool, just a same the production line was closed for maintainence, but there was a taster of the orginal brew by castlemaine's XXX from the 1920s. after the drinking, just wandered the streets of brisbane to get to know the place more. its ok, but once you've seen one city its the same hey?!

saturday 12th- went to australia zoo today, the home (well old home of) the croc hunter. the shame was s*** but i aint been to a zoo for ages, so in that respect i had a thoroughly good day. got to feed elephants- granted its not washing them or riding them thru the forests but its a start! i also got to feed 'roos and pet a wombat and koala..they are so soft but unbelieveably lazy! kinda like u stu, they sleep for the maj of the day and only really get moving when it comes to sex! the train journey home had the highlight of some irish guy complaining to a vending machine company cos his Nerds (the willy wonka sweet) didnt vend, we tried the old "run n push" technique that worked so well in the jcr but it was screwed in, so he's gettin $4.70 forwarded to him in cairns! in the eve i found a lil place showing the aussie rules footy, slowly gettin to grips with the rules!

sunday 13th- happy (australian) mothers day!!! i used this day to see the arty south bank side of brisbane, home to the threatres/galleries and musuems, couldnt be arsed to go into them thou, but i still felt cultured walking past them. there was even a man-made lagoon there too, couldnt take any pics of it cos there were loads of kids about and didnt wanna seem like a paedo. walked to the gabba (home to the ARL team Lions and Queensland cricket) but it was closed so i had to be happy with a quick glance thru the metal fence. watched more ARL and NRL back in the hostel, crashed for a power nap and then went to some english bar for the utd game...only to find out that the game of choice was the shef utd game-f***! but i was with about 10 whu fans so the banter was ace, plenty of singing and general fun. pity we lost and i didnt see the game but there is always youtube and i'll hopefully find a place for the fa cup final.

off to noosa now, the OzEx buses are fully booked till thurs and i cant really be arsed to stay here so i booked myself onto the greyhound bus and spend some quality time near the beach ,and then its onto hervey bay and fraser island soonish...ta-rah!
