AKA Down Under
Spent Thursday through the day at a massive shopping centre nearby. Didna actually buy anything due to the fact I'm trying to get through this trip with the money I have! Lots of nice shops though. Friday was a pretty quiet day. Spent a while sunbathing in the garden and helping Peggy clean the house.
On Friday night Mick (one of Stewart and Peggy's sons) took us rock climbing. It was basically a lit up cliff right in the middle of the city with loads of different climbs. The one we ended up on was pretty tough and neither me or Karis were much use. Need a bit of practice afore we try that again.
On Saturday we went into the city on the bus. We reached the city centre and were amazed by the number of backpackers and services for backpackers. There were hostels everywhere as well as places offering tours and trips to various places around the east coast. Decided it would be a good idea to organise wirselves for after we left the Beveridges, so we managed, after a fair bit of hassle with bank cards and machines, to book a bus up the coast to Cairns with a couple of activities along the way. The bus we booked was a greyhound, open dated bus, meaning you can hop on and off the bus at any stops between Brisbane and Cairns and stay at them as long as you want. We also booked trips to Fraser Island, the Whitsunday Islands and a bush camp along the way! So that should be an experience! After that we just wandered around the city. It was amazing weather so it was nice to just be outside.
On Sunday we were visited by one of Stewart and Peggy's daughters and her 5 yer old son Josh. He was incredibly energetic and talkative. We took him in the pool for a start and then went to the park at Wellington Point. It was a really hot day, got up to about 32 degrees, so we got some sunbathing done too. Both have slightly burnt legs now though... Oh weel. Just three days left in Brisbane now, then its off on the next adventures!
