Antoinette Hildebrandt's Travels
Today we caught the train to Rome. After getting settled in to our rustic apartment we set off towards the Vatican to pick up our Roma Passes and book our tours of St Peter's, the Sistine Chapel, and the Vatican. (It is only a 10 - 15 minute walk) There was a lot of activity going on when we arrived because "the partially incorrupt body of Padre Pio had arrived in Rome for the first time ever alongside that of another friar, St. Leopold Mandic, as a special relics’ tour for the Jubilee of Mercy. He died in 1968. We had a late lunch/early dinner, stocked up on supplies from the local supermarket and made our way home to plan the rest of our stay here.
