Very ill! Woke up a million times in the night! The only good thing about this is that I didn't have a bad dream because I didn't sleep enough!
Went down for breakfast! There was these two young couples from England having breakfast and I could have thrown my chair at them! They were such idiots! Especially this one kid who, was wearing a baseball cap that really should only be worn by black people! He is paste white, spotty and ginger. He isnt fooling anyone. They complained about everything! About all crevices of life! SHUT UP!!!!
Got a map and decided we would be explorers for the day, so at 10 we asked the thicko's at reception how much everything was and whether it would be open as its Sunday and didn't get a response even though they are fluent in English. We got told the national cultural hall museum was closed though.
Walked to where there was the Nam Phou Fountain on the map. It was rubble. Literally rubble. They were only just building it so what's the point in putting it in the map! Oh well!
We then walked to a big stone structure called Hat Dam Stupa. It looked like a cone and we don't know what this was as it isn't mentioned anywhere! It will be something to do with Buddhism though, everything always is!
We then walked half an hour down the main road in Vientiane walking past all the building sights until we came to the Patouxay or Patuxai Monument. This looks like the Arc De Triomphe in France. It was huge! Again we were the only tourists there but it seemed like the place to hang out for all the Laoation teenagers! This monument commemorates the Laos who died in the pre revolutionary wars. It was built in 1969 with cement donated from the USA. You could pay to go up into it and see the views from the top but we didn't. We still don't know why we didnt? Haha
We set off down the main road again for half an hour until we came to the temple That Luang Stupa which is the most important national monument in Laos. It's on all the money and flags. It's a symbol of both Buddhism and Laos sovereignty. There are two temples around it, Wat That Luang Tai and Wat That Luang Neua but there used to be four.
It was huge! A massive gold structure!
There was a lady selling birds in cages outside! They looked very distressed but you could buy them and set them free as a good deed once you were kneeling at the monument.
We saw a wedding happening but we didn't know if it was real of fake! I still got a picture near them! You know what I'm like! Got my Tyra banks on ;)
We then walked to That Luang Market which is just behind the stupa. It was small but nice! It's different in Laos no one bothered you to buy things. I don't think they care if you but them or not!
Set of walking for an hour back to Mixay and got there at 2.30! Went downstairs for a iced chocolate but we got hot coffee! The staff really are useless as he confirmed and wrote down what we wanted! Bless him though he is adorable!
We forgot to eat today so we havnt eaten in 8 hours then took our malaria tablets without thinking. I have never felt to sick in my actual life! Michael was the same! Literally couldn't even move! We decided we either had to vom or go and get food so after trying and failing to vom we went to eat!
Went to the restaurant on our street and as soon as we started to eat we didn't feel sick anymore! I swear these doxycycline tablets will be the death of me!
Got ready and went out at about 9 straight to GQ bar! We watched transformers as they always put HBO Chanel on!
While Michael walked me home two lady boys swamped us! They don't really have space boundaries and felt Michael everywhere! He loved it though! Haha then I pulled him away and walked home!
