Goa is a beautiful place, it's a bit like Hawaii but less manicured. Our hosts Andrew and Lavanya can't do enough for us. Yesterday they drove us to the capital of Goa, we saw old ladies selling fresh sugar cane, onions, aubergines, pineapples and fruits on the side of the road. The sugar cane is sprayed with fresh lime juice and ginger so it's not sickly sweet. There is a strong Catholic presence here which is a throwback from when Portugal governed until the 1960's. Instead of Hindu shrines there are shrines to the Virgin Mary adorned with marigold leis.
We ventured onto the main beach in the town, it was mild and heaving with Indians, mostly tourists. A group from Mumbai took photos of us with their group as if we were celebrities! I still can't get over women having to swim in their clothes, saris or tunics as you will see in the photos.
We had dinner in a beachside cafe, Jon had grilled Tiger prawns and I had fresh red snapper, I think it tastes better when you can taste the salt in the air!
Today we've got a full day. This morning we helped set up the very first Healing on the Beach. Before long we had nearly all the water sport workers (who were more then willing to be prayed for), lining up for prayers. We also prayed for Russian girls (lots of Russian tourists here). We saw lots of back pain and shoulders healed, we also saw a leg grow out on a guy whose leg was damaged by polio, connections were made and the presence of God was on the beach!
This afternoon there is a healing meeting which has been advertised in the local newspaper and with flyers. They've ordered 50 chairs for the living room. I'm expecting there will be queues out the door-yay! I'll keep you posted!

Doug Urquhart A leg growing out of a guy!!! Was it growing fast or slow? How long was it? Did it have a shoe on? My mind is racing. Russians. Connections. God. It's all going on.
