Anna's travels
Cairns and Port Douglas
Cairns is simply party central and since I last updated you my liver has taking a serious beating and as we all know binge drinking is the downfall of society! However this binge drinking has been useful in some ways and one evening Vanessa and I took party in the World famous goldfish racing championships. I bid for an English Champion known as Lord Windsor and he beat of all the other competition, 7 other fish in total to storm to victory and win us a free Bungee jump (were both to scared to do it though!) The next night we went on Red double Decker bus around the bars which was fun. Yep so basically our days in Cairns have been spent in bed and nights drinking and watching football. The timing of all the games has been very inconvenient here, 10.30pm 2Am and 5Am. highly negative situation. We were gonna do a spot of job hunting while up here but that has now been put on hold! We had hoped to get out onto the barrier reef but it's very windy and all the agents have warned us to wait until the sea is less rough
We decided after a week of partying, followed by hangovers it was time for a move. We were getting itchy feet staying a week in a place. So we headed up to Port Douglas for a few days... Port Douglas is a really nice little costal town where all the rich people go. Its a very wealthy place full of lovely bars and restaurants which we couldn't afford. We stayed in a smashing little hostel and spent a few days walking about, reading and relaxing.
Were not sure what to do now, it sounds pretty cold down the east coast so we might try get across to Darwin or Broome in search of some sun but not sure...some planning is needed!
Anyhow will keep in touch.
I fancy an England Oz final!
