Anna's travels
What Anna did next....
Well after Cairns we went to Arlie beach to start out Whitsunday adventure. We met up with Cass and nick, Vanessa's old housemate and set sail on a boat called Boomerang. It was a real sailing boat, used to take part in competitions and all that jazz, anyhow we spent two nights and 3 days sailing around. it was amazing, did lots of snorkeling probably the best i have ever done. But the highlight had to be Whitehaven beach. If you have seen my pictures then you will understand why. i think its possibly the most stunning place i have ever been and we even saw sharks and humpback whales. Was such a great few days and we all went for a good old drink at the end.
So from there it was yet another overnight bus,(oh how i love them) to a smashing little place called 1770. We stayed at the nicest hostel, it even had pot puri in the toilets!!!! It was such a welcoming place and the pubs even give backpackers free beer!! In 1770 we went on mini harley davidsons, chopper things. it was great fun zooming about the place. Saw lots of roos and watched the sunset.
From here it was on to Hervey bay the gateway to Fraser Island. we did and 3Day camping, self drive thing. We were a group of 11, all of us from England, Ireland and Scotland. Now i dont think it was as much fun as the whits but was still good. Fraser island is a sand island with lots of beautiful lakes and Dingos....The lakes were very cold, and it tended to be me, van and our irish freind geraldine who were daring enough. (getting quite daring in my old age) Oh on the second night of camping we had a visit from the local dingo pack. as you can imagine i didnt care for that very much...my hypnotheraoy doesnt stretch to wild dogs i dont think. So i made Vanessa stay in the van with me that night, good job as when everyone was asleeep they were sniffing around the tents. Horrid!
Fraser Island was good fun, but i was happy to be back in a real bed. So now were in Noosa, 3 Irish girls Laura vanessa and me. yesterday we did a boat cruise with free wine which ended up us in a Surf club trying to find some hunky surfers....they couldnt understand me and thought i was saying sulphur, oh it was messy and as you can imagine we didnt find these surfer hunks oz is supposed to have.
So doing alot of travelling at the mo but need to get to sydney fast...i have no money!!!!
i hear the great british summer has gone....its still lovley here, been so lucky with the weather.
All the best, keep sending messages i love getting them!
