Hi all! We have all made it to Cairns in the camper van. We dropped it off today and were very sad to see it go!

Well since my last post I have been diving in the Great Barrier Reef! Me, Anita and Naomi went on a day trip to the Whitsundays. We first went to most beautiful beach I have ever seen, it was called Whitehaven beach and is one of the top ten beaches in the world. We stayed there for a while before returning to the boat for lunch. After lunch we went snorkling for a bit and then it was time for our dive! We got kitted up with our equipment and I was so nervous - the others were really excited. We got into the sea and practiced the skills of cleaning our masks and taking our regulators out of our mouths under the water. We all coped fine and then it was time for the big off! I had only been under the water for less than 30 seconds and my mask filled with water. I tried to clear it but couldn't so I came to the surface in a panic. I started coughing and spluttering everywhere. I decided that I would try and swim back to the boat but the instructor came back to get me. I told him I wanted to get back on the boat. He told me that I could do it and that he would hold my hand! So I gave it another go! I was so pleased I did as I saw some really colourful fish and coral. We were under the water for half an hour. i was so excited as I saw a blue and yellow fish off 'Finding Nemo'! We did not see any sharks, thank god! Lol!

The day after we headed to a place called Townsville where we got on the ferry to Magentic Island. We took the camper van on the ferry with us. When we got there we headed for the camp site which was really nice. It was heaving with wildlife and we saw a lot of bush wallabys and possums! We stayed there for a few days. We had a BBQ on the beach at Horseshoe Bay, which was the bay we were staying and it was beauiful. We got the tables and chairs out on the beach and watched the sun set. The next day we went to another bay on the island, which was also beautiful. All day there were only about 5 other people on the beach. We just chilled out all day. That evening we went to a beach party which was really cool. It was the first time that I have been to a party where wallabys were jumping about! The next morning we had a very early start to get the ferry - this did not go down well! Lol!

Well I think I will leave it there for now and post this while I still have time. x
