This was our final day in Chengdu. We started with a visit to the People's Park where we did Qigong with Tary and then had free time to look around. There were various groups doing Tai Chi around the park. It was a beautiful park and enjoyed by many people. Lily told us that until the Olympics the people had to pay to go into the park but since 2008 they are free. All parks I've been to are well valued and looked after and obviously appreciated.
This afternoon we visited the Giant Pandas. The Chinese certainly know how to do things spectacularly. The grounds were stunning and the pandas were adorable. The panda cubs are together and are very playful. The adult pandas each have their own space. They are very photogenic. There was lots of walking to do between enclosures half of which was uphill and it has been a very hot sunny day.
We have been very lucky with the weather - dry and very warm. Today we even have clear skies - as clear as it can be here.
We are now on our way to Chengdu station to catch the overnight train to Wudang. Stopping on route for some pre-ordered takeaway.
