Today was our first Tai Chi practice in China. After breakfast we walked to the Wenshu Monastery where Tary situated us outside the temple. We immediately found ourselves the centre of attraction from the local people, some of whom joined in with us. Some of our group who didn't do Tai Chi went exploring the park or talking to local people.
We did a couple hours of training then had some time to go wandering. The temple was being prepared for the number one monk who had died the day before. The park was being decorated in bright colours for the funeral. It looked spectacular.
After that we went for lunch and were briefed about tomorrow.
This afternoon we did some more exploring and started some shopping. At lunch a number of us agreed to meet up for dinner at a vegetarian restaurant. Prior to that Ian, Neale, Rob and myself went to a 'tea house' and had chrysanthemum tea (Ian actually had coffee!). Anyway the tea was lovely.
The veggie restaurant turned out to be a real treat. It was hot pot so we picked our own ingredients and each had our own pot on a stove at the table. The staff were delightful. After a bit of a photo shoot on the bridge in their garden we made our way back to the hotel to pack up ready for the start of our journey to Wudang tomorrow. That is after we have seen the pandas:)
