Hey everyone! Here is the update on the last three months of our time in Perth.
We again spent the months between Roy's house and Dave's house.
Sunday's were spent down at the motox track watching Dave and Roy race which was good, we have enjoyed cheering them on. We also had a surfing lesson one Saturday which was good - I (Andy) got the hang of it quickly but I (Grace) struggled quite a lot and only made it onto my knees! We shall have to do some more practicing.
We spent one of the bank holiday's at Penguin Island. You wade through the sea over to the island. This was really good fun and we all took our snorkles along as well. We saw wild penguins and a wild bobtail which scared Michelle a lot when it decided to come out from the bush right next to where she was drying herself.
We found a hostel near the city where we could listen to all the Leicester City games when they were on at 12am our time - thats dedication for you!
We both finished our jobs on Wednesday 23 April. We were both sad to be leaving. Working with the "Aussies" was fun and certainly an eye opener to their way of life. I (Grace) had a presentation from work where there was a Morning Tea held and I was presented with a gift which was a scarf and a picture of the view from the office building in a frame. Also Denise (one of the girls I sat next to and was really nice) gave me a woolly hat (for NZ) and a bar of soap - well they do say us Poms smell!! haha. I also went out for lunch with work where we had a glass of champange! :). Andy's work had a Morning Tea for him also.
Michelle and Dave very kindly did a leaving roast dinner for us - it was yum! We had stremmers in the house and a delicious toblerone cake made by their very hands. They worked really hard all day to get it ready and it was a brilliant time! We even had a photo session :)
The last day was spent at King's Park with Dave, Michelle, Vanessa, Natalie, Chris, Gemma and Roy. We played cricket and football. Also us, Dave, Michelle and the girls had a BBQ on one of the barbies they have at the park. They are free to use and arent vadalised - too easy!
The weather here has changed to being cold would you believe!! Its like the flock of a switch and its too cold now to sit out by the pool at Dave's house - bbboooo.
We have now planned our route home and shall be returning at some point..............and no we arent telling the date.
Missing you all. xxxxx
