On the 24/1/07 we went on a safari tour round Ko Samui and it was the best day we have had on this trip so far. We were picked up from our beach front bungalow at 9.30 and taken to some rock formations on the beach front. Not the most exciting of starts but the day got so much better from then on. After viewing the rocks we were taken to see monkeys that had been trained to climb the trees and knock the coconuts down. Supposedly these monkeys go to monkey school were they are trained to do this and after 10 years or so they retire. The crocodile farm was the next destination. Once there we saw a Thai man put his head in the mouth of a crocodile and kiss the crocodile on the tip of its nose. Peter and I then sat atop of the jeep as we were taken to the top of a rather steep hill. The roads over here are pretty bad and the tour guides were crazy. They would try and tip the jeep every so often and at 1 point he was hanging out the side of the jeep, whilst driving, as we accelerated up a cliff face. We had lunch at the summit of the hill and then it was another treachorous drive back down. The last stop was a visit to a rather large Buddha that overlooks 1 of the bays on the Island.
We left Ko samui on the 25/1/07 and we are now at Ko Pahngan.
