Well we are know onto our 2nd Island and it is pretty different to Ko Samui. We arrived on the Fri afternoon pretty tired so all we did was take a walk along the beach and sleep. On the Saturday we changed bungalows and moved off the beach and onto the hill overlooking the beach. I have taken a 3 day open water scuba diving course which was amazing. The course involved a written exam, practice in the pool and 4 open water dives. I have to say that learning to dive is one of the best things I have ever done. Its really daunting at first as your brain takes a while to get used to you breathing underwater, but the actual experience of swimming along the sea floor amongst the fish and the coral is amazing. I have only gone down to 10 metres but I am qualified to go as deep as 18. The worst thing about it is the pressure that you feel in your ears but that just takes getting used to. Whilst I was away diving Peter spent his time on the beach, walking round the area where we are staying and watching friends. We are both absolutely loving Thailand. If the rest of the holiday is half as good as our 2 weeks here we will be very happy. At nights we go out to bars along the beach where you can buy buckets of vodka and whatever mixer you like. It is probably the best idea ever putting vodka into a bucket and drinking it on the beach. Ko Phangnan is definitely a hedonistic Island which is why I think we like it so much!!! There are so many different nationalities here we fill in the minority being English. We leave to go to Ko Phi Phi tomorrow (2/02/07). I will put photos on when we get there as hopefully the internet connection is better.
