Great few days... Yesterday we went to Marbella to find the old town, which we heard was spectacular. Nothing is ever easy here when driving. Directions and signage are not horrible but you really have to keep your eyes open. Street signs are difficult to find, and the roads are often weird one ways, cross overs, dead ends, too narrow to pass, and all sorts of other interesting surprises! Greg and I have always found it works best with him as the driver and me as the navigator. I love maps and knowing where we're going so it works for me. On this trip thank goodness for iPhone Maps app. It's saved us a few times, and no different in finding Marbella old town.
This area really is gorgeous. Narrow cobblestone Streets are lined with beautiful flowers and windows. Neatly setup tables lining the way along cafes and bars. We find it such a dichotomy here... Lots is old and sometimes dingy feeling ... Yet they take such care in things to make them "just so" with little touches and beautiful details.
We wandered these streets for a few hours, stopped for a bite and a drink. Always loving the prices of tapas and beers!
Saturday we got invited to Tim and Gill's home for an afternoon bbq. Was spectacular. Tims parents were in from England, and their 13 year old daughter Ana was there too. Loads of good food and bbq sausage, chicken and more. Great afternoon and then home to pack.
Tomorrow we head on to Seville. We had booked a train and had intended on driving back to Malaga to drop off the rental, and training up to Seville. But realizing it would actually take less time to drive, we changed it up. And no rush to leave in the morning.
Off we go to a new adventure in Spain.
