Went to Siem Reap las weekend- was amazin... we only had three days so cramed as much as was humanly possible into it!
On the first day we got a boat out to the floating village for sunset, which was prett spectacular! The houses are amazing, they all float because of bamboo in the bottom, which, in case you were wondering, has to be replaced every 10 years! ... an interesting fact for you! We sa the crocodile and catfish farms.... was retty cruel but good entertainment all the same! A soon as we stepped off the boat though we ha pythons slung aroud our necks... thankfully mine was almost dead, although we did have to pay for that delightful pleasure!
That night we went to one of the local bars called Ankor what?... wa prett nice- I managed to find a space on which to write my name on the wall! Alos, had the spiciest spaghetti bolognase of my life!
Then next day was spent going around the infamous temples... they were truly amazing but after getting up at 4.30am to see them at sunrise we were pretty knackered!
On the last day we visited the war museum, where we met a fascinating old man who had lived through the civil wars... his friends called him te cat of 9 lives- it was truly remarkable that he had survived! He regailed us with stories of the many times that he had been caught by land mines/ the backfire of a rocket launcher. His whole family had been killed when he was 10 and then his wife had died last year from a landmine... vewr sad!
Gotta go...
