Got back from Thailand yesterday...... was amazing!
We flew over to Bangkok last saturday and stayed there until wednesday, before flying to Koh Samui for one night and then getting a boat across to Koh Pangan where we stayed until sunday.
Bangkok certainly lived up to expectations with ladyboys on every corner and truly crazy tuk tuk drivers and their pimped up tuk tuks! We saw the worlds largest reclining buddah .... something like 74 feet long- was pretty cool but I've seen enough Buddah's to last we a lifetime now!
A trip to the grand palace was also on the books as the royal palace in Phnom Penh was a bit of a let down! This time it really did live up to its name with the most spectacular building, lots of shiny things and thousands of Japanese tourists in matching hats!
Oh and the Thai food is amazing... particularly the noodles that they make by hand by putting on some really long metal false nasils! Yummy... the only tricky thing is knowing what to eat in the Tom yam soup... the lemon grass was quite like eating a twig!
We had beautiful, clean bungalows in Koh Samui with a golden beach right on the doorstep. The only bad thing about Thai beaches are the thousands of greying wrinkly old men with young local girls.... eeew eeeee eeeeew eee!
Have got to go to work so will basically just say that the fullmoon party is well worth a visit if you like neon paint, buckets of alcohol (even when you ask for water!) and lots of dancing on tables! Although this last one is not advisable as from pesonal experience I can say that it really does hurt when you fall off!
