Hey
Have had a pretty wild weekend by all standards!!! On friday night most of us decided to explore the night life of Phenom Penh... very interesting. Some of the girls who I share the apartment with had their friends over, so there was a decent crowd with 4 strapping males (a requirment for nights out!)
We made the most of the cocktails at lakeside before heading off to the drunken frog for a delishious Khemer curry! Eventually, we went to the legendary Heart of Darkness... the only club in Phenom Penh and somewhere that has to be visited at least once... and only once!
The music was good.... even badly mixed dance anthems are a treat here... and the clientel really was special! A lot of old western men and a few locals, all with questionable intent! Fortunaltely we met a nice Sweed called Victor who made up for the rest of them.
We made it back to lakeside for the sunrise... which, to be honest, wasn't up to much! And then back to the apartment at 6.10am.... ooooh.
We were also out on sat night for the jungle party... the costumes were delightful. It is shockingly easy to get jungle outfits in the market here... Ailsa managed to get a giant tiger print smock with a tiger around the bottom in under 5 mins!
Sunday was spent mainly looking around riverside and a visit to Wat Phenom... a Buddhits temple thingywhich is where the town is supposed to originate from! We missed the elephant by 10 mins!!! But there were some very cute monkeys.
On sunday we also went for a massge at 'seeing hands' which is a place where blind people give you a massage... it allows them to stay independant. Was quite an experience... apart from the fact that she tried to used the vulcan death grip before attempting to pull my ears off... it was really very enjoyable!
Today has mainly been spent trying to stop 4 year olds from killing each other!!!
