It was another fairly gloomy day although it didn't rain as much as yesterday. We wanted to make the most of today as we didn't do much yesterday so we got up early and headed to Gastown. Dynamic it was certainly was! I've never seen anything like it- it was full of incredibly expensive and trendy shops, boutiques, restaurants etc and then suddenly thats it- you get to the end and there's a street that looks really run down and full of some rather dodgy looking characters that are pushing rubbish around in trolleys and rummaging through bins. It's one extreme to the other.
We obviously didn't head up that street!!
After Gastown we went to Robson Street to the Bill Reid gallery which was amazing. It was full of aboriginal textiles, sculptures, and jewellery so I loved that! Unfortunately we were unable to take any photos of the jewellery; it was amazing. The guy was incredibly talented.
We then had a wander round the city centre (there are some lovely shops there) and granned a McDonalds for lunch- our first since we've been here, and no we didn't get it supersized!
